Hi everyone!
It’s been a minute since I’ve had a newsletter, and I hope you’ve all been doing well.
Things here have been on balance fine, though it’s been a rougher time for me than usual recently. Both for personal reasons (we just had to put one of our beloved cats down after a brief but very aggressive illness) and professional (it’s a hell of a time to be working in law in the United States). On the upside, though, writing has been one of the best escapes I’ve ever had, and being able to hide away in the silly little worlds I’ve created has been such a comfort lately.
On a much, much happier note: I have news!
Book News
ROAD TRIP is officially six months away from publication! To celebrate**, readers are now able to request an early copy on NetGalley.
**(tbh the date is probably just a coincidence lol)
To those new to NetGalley, it’s a site that allows readers to request an early copy of the book to read in exchange for an honest review. I’ve been so excited to be able to share this book—which is the final planned book for the MY VAMPIRES series— with readers. I can’t wait to hear what you think! (I’m also more than mildly terrified, but that’s my semi-permanent state of being.
ROAD TRIP will be driving to a bookstore near you on October 14 (five days before the MOST MILESTONE of milestone birthdays for me, this must be a sign lol). All preorders through Parnassus Books will be signed and personalized by me—and all folks who preorder from any bookstore who submit me their receipts will get free exclusive bonus Frederick x Cassie content the week following ROAD TRIP’s release!
Events News
I am going to be in SO MANY PLACES over the next few months—Nashville, Louisville, London, and Milwaukee!— to celebrate not only my books but also other people’s books. (Honestly? Being in conversation with other authors to celebrate their books might be my favorite thing about being an author. Getting a microphone and being allowed to fangirl over books is sort of a dream come true.) Come watch me be awkward at one of the following events!
On May 7, I will be at Parnassus Books here in Nashville to celebrate the release of Matthew Hubbard’s upcoming YA release THE REBEL’S GUIDE TO PRIDE and Kit Rosewater’s upcoming ALL’S FAIR IN LOVE AND FIELD HOCKEY!
And then on May 13, I will be back at Parnassus Books to yodel about Ashley Herring Blake’s upcoming release, DREAM ON, RAMONA RILEY
On June 19, I will be at A Novel Romance in Louisville to scream, shout, and otherwise embarrass myself thoroughly over Ashley Poston’s SOUNDS LIKE LOVE.
UK Friends!!! From July 4-5 I will be at RARE25 London signing books and showing people from all around the world how funny (aka “painfully awkward”) I am :D
September 5-6, I will be in Milwaukee for Romance-Con. This will be my first time there as a signing author and I could not be more excited.
PHEW!!!!!
(The dates and locations for my ROAD TRIP WITH A VAMPIRE tour are still being pinned down, but once I have them I will share them here. If there’s a place you would like to see me visit, please let me know! [with the caveat that I will only be able to visit 3-4 bookstores this time])
Writing News
As I write this newsletter and begin to gear up for promoting ROAD TRIP, I have been very hard at work drafting my fourth book. It’s an idea I have been SUPER excited about for years now, and so far it is shaping up to be my favorite thing I’ve ever written. (Hint #1: it’s not about a vampire. Hint #2: Not to get too far afield from my brand, the male love interest isn’t exactly alive.) I’ve teased about this book a lot on my Instagram, and once I get the go ahead I plan to be extremely unrelentingly annoying about how much I will talk about this book so be forewarned ;)
As of right now the tentative pub date for this not-so-secret project is Fall, 2026. Stay tuned. ;)
That’s about all there is from me this time. I hope you’ve been doing well. <3
